Vocational Training for Refugees in Turkey

If you are a refugee under international or temporary protection in Turkey, you have various vocational training opportunities provided by several institutions.

Public Education Centers

Public Education Centers can be found in every city, and even almost in every neighborhood.

Refugees have the opportunity to contact these public institutions for both Turkish language and vocational trainings. All educational and vocational trainings are free. Each local public education center determines their offered educational and vocational courses themselves, but with enough applications, they can start other trainings as well.

Istanbul Municipality LifeLong Learning Centers (ISMEK)

ISMEK provides various courses to all those living in Istanbul, including refugees. All courses are free, and you can contact your local ISMEK office found in each neighborhood for further information about their courses.

Alternative Vocational Trainings

In addition to vocational training provided by the state institutions, you can also benefit from training and courses provided by civil society organizations. You can contact Refugee Rights Turkey for additional information on the civil society organizations’ vocational courses and trainings in your neighborhood.
