Refugees in Turkey, like other foreigners, are entitled to pursue their higher education providing the necessary documents.
First of all, to be able to apply for college, you have to have secondary and high school diploma. If you’ve received your high school diploma from abroad, you have to take Foreign Students High School Proficiency and Equivalence test. If you received your high school diploma from Turkey, in that case, it would not be necessary.
Refugees wishing to continue their higher education in Turkey, as other foreign students, must take an exam called Foreign Student Exam (YÖS). Refugees who got received their high school diplomas from a Turkish institutional are not entitled to take the university exam that Turkish citizens are required to take. They also have to take the Foreign Student Exam (YÖS).
